Summary of report content

It is unclear how many residents were spoken to on the day but specific reference is made to 4 relatives and staff.

It spends a lot of time describing the property and facilities from observation. It does refer to activities, resident meetings and separate resident and family meetings including reference to regular contact by the home with family members. They comment on the meal options and dining arrangements.

There is a dementia unit on the first floor but the home stresses it is a care home and relies on visiting District Nurses. Whilst praising the local GP service it criticises provision of specialist equipment and dental services. It refers to Barchester’s computerised process for allocating staffing levels and whistleblowing policy.

It also refers to ‘memory lane specifically for its dementia patients.

It includes a number of recommendations and a provider response but no evidence of impact
