Summary of report content

Healthwatch Hartlepool undertook an enter and view visit to Charlotte Grange Care Home on 5 October 2022.  They wanted to understand how the care home had progressed since their last visit in November 2017.

On arrival the outside appearance looked tired and unkempt giving a poor first impression. The access buzzer did not work. The authorised representatives were not asked to sign in or show proof of Covid vaccinations or lateral flow tests and had to offer this. I

in general, the home was busy with a pleasant atmosphere, and everyone was friendly with lots of activity. The residents looked happy, clean and well nourished. There was no unpleasant odour in the home. The majority of residents were very happy and had open access to all units which encouraged a community feeling. Internal refurbishment/redesign is required in parts.
