Summary of report content

Healthwatch Staffordshire conducted an unannounced Enter and View visit Carden Bank Care Home on 17 May 2013.

The Healthwatch Staffordshire Enter and View Authorised Representatives spoke to most residents during the visit and heard that they considered themselves to be well looked after, treated with respect and dignity. They said they received good food, care, and consideration. . One of the residents summed their thoughts up by stating “best place ever, I love it here, you would never find one as good as this”.

The visiting team also spoke to three staff on duty, the Manager, Deputy Manager, and cook, and they confirmed that they had all the support required from management to carry out their relative duties. Training was well provided for and the staff said that hands on management created a good sense of teamwork. The Authorised Representatives observed what they felt was a genuine desire by staff to provide, and improve where necessary, good care and also gave the impression of being happy in their work.

No recommendations were made and no response was received from the provider.
