Summary of report content

Healthwatch Warwickshire did an announced Enter and View visit to Cape Road Surgery on 20th July 2015. No concerns were observed with the external building condition. The surgery was clearly signposted from the main road, however, it doesn’t have any parking. The internal was found to be clean and tidy and up to a good standard.

The Healthwatch Enter and View team found the surgery met almost all their observation criteria. The GPs call the patients when it is their turn and they are informed by the staff if the surgery is running late. There is a list of interpreters advertised on the notice board, and they have an active PPG.

The questionnaire asked the patients attending the surgery about appointments, access, parking, signage, staff attitudes, cleanliness and the quality of care amongst other things. 24 out of the 26 respondents found the appointment booking system to be good, while 6 found the access to the surgery, parking and public transport to be poor. 100% rated the GP as good, but 23 out of the 26 found the receptionist to be good.

There seemed to be a general satisfaction with the punctuality of the appointments and almost all considered the care and treatment at the surgery as good, “Excellent. Happy that me and my family are patients at this surgery.”

A few recommendations for some possible improvement about the punctuality of appointments was made to which the surgery responded promptly.
