This is a report of an Enter and View carried out by Healthwatch Milton Keynes of Burlington Hall care home on 9 August 2024. Healthwatch Milton Keynes used a semi-structured conversation approach to speak to 17 residents and family members.
Burlington Hall is a care home with a maximum capacity of 70 residents, with 61 people living there at the time of the visit. The home is registered to provide accommodation for people who require personal or nursing care and dementia care. More than 60% of residents at the time of the visit live with some level of dementia.
Healthwatch Milton Keynes found Burlington Hall to be a well-run, comfortable establishment whose residents are well provided with social activities and interactions. However, the report does outline two recommendations.
- A review or closer monitoring of the new laundry processes, to address any gaps in implementation
- Consider refreshing the personal care training provision to ensure staff are more mindful when supporting frail residents in transfers and when providing personal care.
