Summary of report content

Healthwatch Sheffield conducted an Enter and View visit to Broomcroft House care home on 7th February 2019. They spoke to 12 residents, 6 relatives and 6 members of staff. 

Overall, the care home received positive feedback. The residents and relatives spoke highly of staff and the care provided. There was a varied and accessible activities programme that was well advertised throughout the home. Several different GP practices provided care to the residents. 

However, the number of corridors in the home made it difficult for residents to navigate. They also had a high turnover of staff and several changes of management in recent years. 

Healthwatch made several recommendations to improve decor and signage around the home and to improve staff retention. The service provider responded well to these recommendations.
