Healthwatch Blackpool conducted an Enter and View on Brooklands Nursing & Care Home, Blackpool, a privately owned nursing home catering for adults generally between 30-40 years old with acquired brain injuries (ABI). The home is designed to support people short/mid-term and specialises in supporting ABI recovery and rehabilitation. The visit was conducted on 29th June 2016. It is a small home with an eight-bed capacity and has a lift which provides access to the two floors. The visit was arranged as part of Healthwatch Blackpool’s enter and view schedule.

Observation by the enter and view representatives reported that:

In general the comments and observations were mainly positive with the residents giving positive feedback about the staff and facilities available.

There did not seem to be any recommendations in the report, just general good practice observations which all seemed positive and a response from the home was also not provided.
