Healthwatch Sunderland undertook an enter and view visit to Blossom Hill Care Home. They found that residents, staff, family and friends and managers felt:
- The home had a strong visible management
- Staff had the skills to do their jobs but struggled sometimes to do all tasks within the time
- The staff had a good knowledge of each resident and their changing needs
- The home had a varied programme of activities
- There was choice and flexibility around food and mealtimes, and the food was of a good quality
- Residents had regular access to health professionals
- The home accommodated residents’ personal, cultural and lifestyle needs
- The home provided an open environment where feedback is actively sought and used
- The home provided a physical environment which is suitable for the needs of the residents
