Enter and View: Blossom Hill Care Home

Healthwatch Sunderland undertook an enter and view visit to Blossom Hill Care Home.  They found that residents, staff, family and friends and managers felt:

• The home had a strong visible management
• Staff had the skills to do their jobs but struggled sometimes to do all tasks within the time
• The staff had a good knowledge of each resident and their changing needs
• The home had a varied programme of activities
• There was choice and flexibility around food and mealtimes, and the food was of a good quality
• Residents had regular access to health professionals
• The home accommodated residents’ personal, cultural and lifestyle needs
• The home provided an open environment where feedback is actively sought and used
• The home provided a physical environment which is suitable for the needs of the residents
