Healthwatch Barnet conducted an announced Enter and View visit to Baxendale Woodside House on 27 January 2015. The team recorded their observations of the home and received feedback from residents, relatives and two members of staff.
The team found that the home was run well and received positive feedback from residents, relatives and staff. Staff were found to have good relationships with residents. The home has facilities to allow for care for residents with dementia and all care staff have been provided with training in this area. Some areas of concern were highlighted including that food was not always at the desired temperature, the frequency of resident/relative meetings and a concern that issues were dealt with in an informal, but satisfactory manner.
The report made 4 recommendations inline with the feedback received.
