Healthwatch Havering conducted a second enter and view visit to Arran Manor Residential Care Home on 10th December 2018. They spoke to 4 people during this visit.
This care home can accommodate up to 22 people. There were 12 care staff, with 3 support staff and 1 cook at the time of the visit. There are comprehensive handovers at the end of each shift with all Carers involved. 95% of the people living at Arran Manor had varying degrees of dementia and varying degrees of communication difficulties. Care plans for residents are reviewed annually and include activities that the individual enjoys. However, an activity coordinator is not employed. All medication is stored in locked cupboards and residents have access to a chiropodist, optician, and a dentist.
Healthwatch Havering found the home exemplary and did not wish to offer recommendations.
