Summary of report content

Healthwatch Cheshire West conducted an Enter and View visit to the Ambulatory Care Unit at Countess of Chester Hospital on the 26th of May 2015. The team spoke to patients, relatives and staff. They used survey methods and made general observations.

The team commented that the department was calm and efficient, with staff indicated that they enjoyed working there. Overall, patient feedback was positive with a number of patients praising the treatment they received in the department. The report indicated that the department ran smoothly and was well coordinated with other departments.

The report made several recommendations. The team felt that an information board about the staff detailing their roles would be helpful for patients. Another recommendation was to improve diagnostic availability during the weekend to enable cases to be progressed more quickly.

The report included a response from the provider, detailing the positive patient feedback received.
