Healthwatch Barnet undertook an unannounced Enter and View visit to Acacia Lodge, on 18 March 2014, to review the to review the actions taken following their 12 September 2013 Enter and View visit. The team did not carry out a full review of the service but concentrated on areas of potential concern that had been raised previously.
In the previous report, a recommendation was made regarding staff wearing name badges. In this report, it was noted that these had been obtained but had been returned to have spelling corrected, replacements were awaited.
All other recommendations had been actioned and this report concludes that this “is a comfortable home providing a good standard of care”.
The visiting team also noted that the manager had attended at least one meeting of IQCH (integrated Quality in Care Homes Team in Barnet) and had found it a useful way of comparing practices and obtaining information. Healthwatch Barnet express their hope that this continues to be the case and is to be encouraged and also, that by building closer relationships with other homes nearby this may be beneficial to the
residents.
The report makes two further recommendations in this report, both of which have been positively responded to by the Home's manager with an added action of adding the full contact details of Healthwatch Barnet to their complaints procedure.
