Summary of report content

This is an enter and view report conducted by Healthwatch Bucks 23 January, 2018. During the visit Healthwatch representatives spoke to 9 people, which included a mix of staff and residents. The visit was unannounced, though a window of two weeks was given for the visit.

Overall the home was found to be operating to a good standard. Residents seemed to be happy with the care they were receiving.

Recommendations were made as part of this report. A response from the home manager has been attached.

Summary of recommendations:

- Look to developstaff knowledge of basic BSL or Makaton words such as breakfast or other contextual words to develop freerflowing two-wayconversation with some residents.

- Try to get some residents to walk some days to the local supermarket and town rather than get a taxi both ways (when the weather is reasonable).

- Explore holiday opportunities for all residents.
