Summary of report content

Healthwatch Manchester were commissioned by Manchester City Council to conduct interviews with citizens who were discharged into care during the 12 months beginning in July 2020. They spoke to a total of 26 people.

  • They found that more communication is needed with close family to ensure that they are kept fully informed, as soon as possible, of any updates to the discharge status of their relative.
  • Participants were generally satisfied with the quality of the service received during their discharge .
  • Overall, participants were satisfied with the standard of adaptations and adjustments that had been made to their property
  • Concerns were raised by a minority of participants around the quality of care they received once they returned home.
