Summary of report content

This report was written by Healthwatch Brent following feedback identification that diabetes amongst BAME groups was high in the area.

The report was published March, 2018 with a set of survey work being completed beforehand. A total of 26 responses were gathered following two workshops at different local groups.

Overall sentiment was neutral. The qeustions asked were related to awareness and intended to explore how people got information and where it could be improved.

A set of recommendations is included in the report. A response from the council's public health office is attached.

Summary recommendations:

- Increase awareness, as it was not found to be high enough

- Work with Healthwatch locally to improve public health's reach

- Target high risk communities better

- There was desire for more face to face information
