Summary of report content

Healthwatch North Yorks undertook an analysis of their general feedback on dentistry as they were getting more feedback about access, increasing from 7% to 11% of all feedback since their previous review in October 2020.

Nearly half of all their feedback was about people not being able to find a dentist, and over a third related to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on access to dentistry.  They found that when people were able to access a dentist, they were positive about the experience.

Other issues highlighted in the briefing are access to emergency appointments; children’s oral health; people being forced to go private to get the treatment they need.
