Summary of report content

This survey was carried out by Healthwatch Halton and looked at the G.P. Practice Manager (PM)’s role in Halton. It is a complex role. PMs and the admin staff cover a wide range of tasks including finance, access and appointment management, staffing, prescriptions, patient facilities, Patient Participation Groups and Information Technology.

The survey asked practice managers questions around Access, Staffing, appointments, patient participation Group and literature.

Of the 17 practices in Halton, 15 responded to the survey. The practices that responded were:

Three enter & views were also carried out as part of this report; Grove House Practice, Runcorn; Beaconsfield Practice, Widnes; Castlefields Health Centre.

Recommendations were made and Halton Clinical Commissioning Group responded statinmg they would incorporate the recimmendations made into the GP Forward View Implementation Plan.
