Summary of report content

Healthwatch West Sussex carried out a survey with the Crawley Local Community Network (LCN) to better understand people's experience of living in temporary accommodation. It took place from September 2024 to February 2025. 

They received 126 responses. 

Key issues included:

  • Safety and accommodation
  • Social isolation due to language barrier
  • Impact of no-visitors policy
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Environmental concerns (noise, rubbish, lack of space)
  • Lack of security

Positive themes:

  • endure they are their family are safe
  • Not living in fear
  • Independence and privacy
  • Crawley Borough Council housing team have been supportive and professional
