Healthwatch Kent collated information received between 17th-31st July about over 80 people's experiences during the pandemic.
They found issues relating to booking GP appointments as well as canceled GP appointments. People were being discharged home without proper support in place. There were mixed experiences of obtaining and using Personal Protective Equipment in multiple settings, such as care homes and physiotherapists. People's opinion on using face masks varies across Kent with some people saying they don't need to wear masks. There were reported difficulties booking tests as some sites have closed. For those who have had the virus, they report lasting health effects after they have recovered. Many community services have not restarted despite there being a want and need for them. Pregnant women reported being concerned about the lack of communication and support before and after birth. Staff members are reporting more mental health issues and the requirement for support has increased.
