Healthwatch Bath and North East Somerset undertook a survey of attitudes to the Covid-19 vaccine. 165 people took part in the survey.
Nearly 85% of respondents had very positive attitudes to vaccines in general. Nearly nine in ten had heard positive information about the vaccine.
Four in five people who responded had already had the vaccine. Only two percent of respondents probably or definitely wouldn’t have it.
The report explores concerns about the Covid-19 vaccine, primarily people who couldn’t be vaccinated for health reasons and people who were worried about the effectiveness of the vaccine.
Over nine in ten people said that nothing would stop them from having the vaccine. Concerns were expressed about having to get public transport or the location might prevent them from having the vaccine.
The main motivations to be vaccinated included protecting friends and family and themselves from getting Covid-19 and helping society getting back to normal again.
People who had already been vaccinated were very appreciative of the speed and efficacy of the vaccination centres they had attended. A number had concerns about the booking process.
