In September 2021, Healthwatch Derby research people’s experiences of having the COVID-19 vaccination. In total, the report is based on 312 bits of feedback. 96% reported a positive experience. Key themes are that overall services were excellent and well organised, and staff were friendly, kind, reassuring, and available to help.
The second part of the report asks more detailed questions about worries and anxieties around the vaccine. 30% expressed worries prior to vaccination, though 78% of those who gave further details had their concerns resolved. The main worries raised were fear of needles/injections and short-term and long-term side effects of the vaccine. 94% of respondents stated that the centre could not have done anything further to reduce worries/anxieties or improve the experience.
