Healthwatch Wiltshire conducted a survey looking into people's experiences during the Coronavirus pandemic. These results are based on insight gathered between 1st and 28th June.
The report found that people are continuing to find it difficult to find information about changes to services, visiting family and friends, testing, and looking after their mental health. Relatives of people living in care homes have reported that although visiting has stopped, they have been kept in touch with how they are, and felt that they were well cared for. Many people reported that they were getting support from friends and family. A number of these mentioned that keeping in touch with others by video chat was helpful. A mix of experiences were collected about accessing GP services. Some people said that their hospital care had been able to continue. People reported experiences with Pharmacies, such as delays with ordering and supply of medication and long waiting times at pharmacies. They were also told of specific types of medication that people had not been able to access including some medications for asthma and HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) patches.
No recommendations were made in the report.
