Methodology: consultation with 8 community groups and 2 events consulted
Care Circles are workshops with local groups: 2 in Central Lancashire, 5 in North Lancashire and 1 in East Lancashire. Also 2 Pop Up Events a LGB&T Locality event and an Outdoor Market.
Feedback was collected on the following services in East, Central and North Lancashire: hospital services, GP services, dental services (east only) and other health and social care services.
Concerns and issues raised were:
• Royal Preston Hospital maternity services
• Lack of communication between the local hospitals
• Booking GP appointments varied across the region and the ways in which technology helped / hindered patients’ access
• Diagnosis of Autism and the process
• Poor service at local pharmacy with long waits for items on prescriptions
• Blackpool Victoria Hospital, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Lancaster Infirmary mixed comments
• Issues relating to transgender “friendly” GPs and waiting times for gender identity clinics
• Care for the elderly and inconsistent practices across GP surgeries
• Miscommunication of information to patients via receptionists at GP surgeries
• Exemption fees for dental treatment inconsistent messages with patients.
