Summary of report content

This report was written by Healthwatch Birmingham following feedback about access to emergency GP appointments.

The report was published January, 2017. It is based on feedback provided to the Healthwatch feedback centre, comments gathered by engagement, as well as follow up conversations with GPs. A total of 66 people’s comments were captured. A further 72 GPs commented on feedback for the report.

Overall people felt they should be seen more easily when describing their condition as urgent. The responses by GPs give detail as to what the challenges are to achieving this.

While a set of recommendations is not made, the report comments were shared with GPs and their responses included.
