Summary of report content

On 22 June Healthwatch Bristol worked in collaboration with Bristol Royal Hospital staff to raise awareness of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) by talking to patients informing them of the support available to them.

Representatives spoke to nine children, young people, parents and carers, who had a disability or learning difficultly and two people who said they did not have SEND. They used a wellbeing questionnaire which was devised with Bristol City Council’s Thrive programme.

Healthwatch Bristol plan to use the findings from this event towards the year’s research focusing on mental health.
