Summary of report content

The Awareness survey 2017 report is a short report that gives the results of a survey carried out by Healthwatch York to assess how aware the people in the area are of the local Healthwatch service and what they do.

The survey is carried out as part of the contractual monitoring required by the City of York council, and this survey provides baseline information for the 2017-2020 contract.

208 people completed the questionnaire that consisted of 10 questions. The survey was shared with people via social media, partner organisations and at information stands, with a prize draw to win £20 of shopping vouchers as an incentive.

The results included:

Over 40% of people had heard of Healthwatch York.

67% were not aware of their 'Rate and review' website but said they would use it.

Over three quarters (77%) said they would contact Healthwatch York if they had any future issues with health or social care.
