Healthwatch Greenwich report on the feedback they received during April 2021. During this period they received 156 responses. The report covers the following issues:
Covid-19 vaccination – overall people have positive experiences of the vaccination centres, but some are concerned about when they will get their second dose.
GP services – whilst telephone consultations have improved access, others are concerned about long waits to get through on the phone and waiting weeks to get an appointment. Long waits on the phone can be costly for people on low incomes. They hear that kind and patient receptionists are valued by service users, but often they have to deal with ill informed or abrupt receptionists. If people can’t get through on the phone to surgeries, they go to A&E. Face to face appointments are not often available and apps and video appointments not suitable for everyone.
Dentists – people in pain find it difficult to get emergency treatment and are resorting to DIY measures.
