Summary of report content

Healthwatch Hull report on its key achievements for 2025/26. it:

  • Influenced improvements to autism and mental health support, identifying barriers to access, long waits and communication issues, and making recommendations to improve services for neurodiverse residents. 
  • Helped shape the future of adult social care and residential care services through Enter and View visits, engagement with residents, families and providers, and recommendations that informed service improvements and recommissioning. 
  • Gathered extensive public feedback on healthcare access, highlighting concerns about NHS dentistry, GP appointments, mental health support, communication and waiting times, which informed future Healthwatch priorities. 
  • Worked with the Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance on a major cancer awareness project, helping strengthen cancer strategies and improve the accessibility of cancer information and screening services. 
  • Amplified the voices of seldom-heard communities through targeted engagement with people affected by autism, mental health conditions, memory loss, language barriers, and young people, ensuring their experiences influenced local health and care planning.
