Summary of report content

Healthwatch East Riding of Yorkshire report on its key achievements in 2025/26.  It:

  • Influenced improvements to services through major projects on Parkinson’s, endometriosis and adenomyosis, sexual health, school readiness, community transport and Goole Hospital, ensuring residents’ experiences informed decision-making. 
  • Helped shape the future of sexual health services, with findings from work with young people already being used to review education materials, improve service design and inform future commissioning. 
  • Raised awareness of the challenges faced by people living with Parkinson’s, identifying gaps in diagnosis, communication, mental health support and support for carers, and issuing 13 recommendations for improvement. 
  • Ensured local voices influenced major healthcare planning, including the future of Goole Hospital, adult social care improvements, neighbourhood health plans and community transport provision. 
  • Reached a wide range of communities, including young people, carers, rural residents and people facing healthcare access barriers, helping ensure their experiences shaped local health and care services.
