This is our Annual Report published on 30 June 2020 detailing the activities we undertook in the previous financial year and describes priorities for 2020-21. The report was compiled by our staff and Advisory Board members. It draws on calls received by our helpline, which offers signposting and advice for local residents as well as intelligence gathered at numerous engagement events across the borough. The independent health complaints advocate, co-located with Healthwatch Southend has also contributed to its preparation. As well as a commitment to assessing itself using Healthwatch England’s Quality Framework, we have identified our priorities for 2020-21 as:
- Looking at the impact of Covid-19
- Services for children and young people with special educational needs
- Vulnerable people – especially those in care homes or receiving care at home
- Improving our reach into our local community
- Partnership working
- Strengthening Healthwatch Southend
