Summary of report content

Healthwatch Lancashire report on their key achievements for 2017/18:

  • Engaged extensively with local communities, speaking to over 12,000 people, reaching 157 seldom-heard groups, and publishing reports on issues including mental health, learning disabilities, pharmacy services and GP access. 
  • Led major projects on learning disabilities and autism, helping hospitals introduce improvements such as promoting hospital passports and creating quieter waiting areas for people with learning disabilities and autism. 
  • Influenced improvements in primary care, pharmacies and urgent care services through Lancashire-wide "Your Voice" engagement programmes and feedback from patients. 
  • Worked with NHS partners on public health priorities, including projects on mental health, screening and immunisation uptake, and children's and young people's health and wellbeing.
  • Strengthened its influence across the health and care system, winning a CCG Excellence Award for work with care homes and helping shape discussions on service transformation across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
