Summary of report content

Healthwatch Lancashire report on their key achievements for 2014/15. They:

  • Developed a new organisational strategy focused on five priorities: communications, engagement, community roadshows, residential care scrutiny, and volunteer development. 
  • Launched a new interactive website, expanded public engagement activity, and introduced a large-scale engagement database to gather residents' experiences of health and social care. 
  • Built a volunteer network of 29 trained volunteers who supported assessments, research projects, mystery shopping exercises, and patient experience work across Lancashire.
  • Conducted an NHS 111 survey and shared findings with commissioners, providers and regulators to identify opportunities for service improvement. 
  • Influenced improvements at Royal Lancaster Infirmary through a patient journey project, leading to changes in communication, staffing, complaints information and patient care practices on Ward 39.
