Summary of report content

Healthwatch Sutton undertook a survey to understand access to NHS dentistry issues locally.  They received 98 responses.

  • All the respondents who tried to register with a dentist after March 2020 were unable to do so because they contacted surgeries who were not taking on new NHS patients
  • Almost a fifth wanted to register with an NHS dentist, but could only be registered as a private patient
  • More than a quarter of respondents who had attempted to book a routine appointment had to wait a month or more for one.
  • Thirteen percent who had attempted to book an emergency appointment were unable to get one.
