Summary of report content

Healthwatch Lincolnshire undertook a snap survey on access to GP services including appointments with GPs, practice nurses, paramedics and other clinicians within GP surgeries/practices.  They heard from 1,255 people.

Just over a third found it easy to access an appointment. Those with a disability appeared to find it hardest to get an appointment.

Many of the suggestions for improving the experience of booking an appointment mirror the aspects that others identified as working well. This highlights the variability in experiences and services available throughout the county. People liked being able to prebook, have timely access to appointments, being able to book appointments online and have a choice of means of booking an appointment.

People wanted a number of things to be improved, including the 8am scramble for appointments; online systems to be open for longer and more staff.
