Healthwatch Halton undertook an enter and view visit to Beechcroft Care Home on 15 October 2025.
Key Findings
- Healthwatch noted that the environment of the home was warm and friendly and had caring staff. Residents and families expressed high satisfaction with care, food, and activities.
- Staff told Healthwatch that they worked well together as a team, management was approachable and they had good training opportunities. Staff morale is positive.
- Residents and family members described staff as kind and attentive; families feel involved in care decisions. Activities and meals were well received.
- The building is dated, especially Ash Unit. Planned refurbishment was welcome. Healthwatch felt that some signage was unclear and the décor lacks dementia-friendly design.
- Healthwatch observed engaging group sessions and residents enjoy participation.
- Some maintenance Issues were identified, including a broken light, damp smell in shower room, bathrooms used for storage, odours in some areas.
