Summary of report content

Healthwatch East Riding of Yorkshire was asked to conduct engagement on behalf of the local council about the new commissioning framework for home care.  They spoke to 10 people.

Key findings

  • Reliability and consistency of carers was very important.
  • Promoting independence was crucial
  • Having choice and control over personalised care plans was highly valued.
  • Systemic issues like delays in care assessments, poor communication between the providers and the local council and staffing challenges impacted quality of care.
