Summary of report content

In 2023, the NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (MSE ICB) were successful in winning funding to facilitate a programme of activities as part of NHS England’s Research Engagement Network Development scheme (REN), to improve the number of people from underserved communities to get involved in health and care research.

This report aims to provide an overview of the research and engagement activities carried out by partner organisations during phase one of the MSE REN programme. This includes reflecting on the experiences of participants who engaged in these activities and how effective these activities have been in contributing towards improving community engagement in healthcare research in Mid and South Essex.
