Summary of report content

Healthwatch Herefordshire was commissioned by NHS England and NHS Improvement to undertake patient engagement to inform future plans for dental services in Hereford.  They undertook a survey to which 675 people responded and 18 people attended focus groups.

The main issues raised were:

  • Transport links to services in Hereford from the rest of the county
  • Parking
  • Flexibility of appointments
  • The particular problems of members of the armed forces and their families in accessing NHS dentistry

The report contains six recommendations to tackle these problems.
