Summary of report content

Healthwatch West Sussex worked with Macmillan to understand which digital systems people were using to manage their healthcare needs and barriers to use.  56 people answered their survey.

Over four in five people already used the NHS App to manage their healthcare.  The main reasons for not using the App at all included it being difficult to set up and not needing it.

Two thirds had had a discussion with their doctor regarding their general health in the last 12 months, but most hadn't had a discussion about advance care planning if they became unwell.

One in five had a life limiting diagnosis themselves or a loved one had a life limiting diagnosis.  Of these, 6% were receiving care from a community palliative care team.
