Healthwatch Derby carried out a survey with the help of CamTAD Hearing Support to understand people’s experiences of hearing aid services during the pandemic and people’s experiences of the transitions of services since 2018. The survey was running for a month from 25 May 2021 and received 227 responses.
Most respondents reported positive experiences across all providers, namely the overall service, staff and communication. Areas for improvement were mainly to do with access, as patients felt there could be more local services without needing to travel into town, more availability of opening hours, and more contact options other than email.
Patients also wanted more contact between appointments, more notice time for appointments, and quicker follow up checks.
