Healthwatch Lancashire carried out an Enter and View visit at Moor Park House, Preston. The home provides residential care for older adults, as well as complex nursing care for adults with an acquired brain injury.
During their visit, they collected feedback from the residents about the environment, type of activities, and about the quality of care and food in the home. They heard mostly positive feedback and mixed reviews about the food. A relative also shared their positive feedback about the care their loved one was receiving. They felt the home kept them well-informed.
Healthwatch representatives also spoke with few staff members. They all had something positive to say about working at the home. However, there seemed to be issues with staffing levels due to staff sickness or agency staff not arriving to their shift, which put additional pressures on other staff.
Healthwatch made two recommendations about variation and choice of food and about staffing levels. The report contains a response from the providers.
