Healthwatch Bucks continued to collect feedback from people about their experience of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. This report contains information related to people who had received the vaccine as well as those how had chosen not to have the vaccine.
They found that –
- Most people received a text invitation from their GPs to have the vaccine.
- People thought that having more information about the booking system when they made the appointment would have been useful.
- People on their second dose or over 55 were less likely to mention side effects.
- Most had received their vaccine at a national – pharmacy site or a local GP-led site.
- Majority had information about how to get to the site and what to expect when they arrive.
- People who didn’t have their own transport found it the most difficult to get to the site.
- The process of getting the vaccine was satisfactory was most people and they felt safe and protected.
- Those who declined to have the vaccine were mainly concerned about the side effects while some felt that it was experimental.
The report has recommendations to further improve the information provision about the vaccination process, particularly about the booster programme.
