Summary of report content

Healthwatch Wiltshire worked together with the local CCG, Wiltshire Center for Independent Living and Wiltshire Parent Carer Council to plan online workshops. Based on the discussions in the workshops, the report highlights what people think a good life looks like, what they need from their community to live a healthy life, and how a good community mental health support can make a positive difference.

Based on the findings, the report contains four recommendations –

  • More emphasis should be given to early support and prevention
  • There should be more support available locally and in the community. This should be flexible and accessible
  • People should be supported and empowered to set up their own support groups, activities and events
  • Support should be co-designed and co-produced with people with lived experience of mental health.
