Healthwatch North Yorkshire report on the themes in feedback from the public received during April to June 2021. During this period, they spoke to 544 people.
The largest issue in their feedback was access to NHS dentistry. Most people they spoke to were unable to find an NHS dentist. Some were able to, but only if they travelled long distances. Many were unable to afford the cost of private dentistry.
The next largest issue was Covid-19 vaccination. The main issues reported were anxiety about when people would be vaccinated, criteria for priority groups, booking systems and second appointments.
The third largest issue was GP access – which was largely negative. Feedback concerned staff attitude and appointments.
Other services covered in the feedback included hospitals, social care and mental health support.
