Summary of report content

Healthwatch Wolverhampton carried out a project looking at the effects of COVID 19 on individuals’ physical, emotional, and mental health.

A mixture of surveys and focus groups was used for this project. In total, 202 people took part in this research.

  • 70% of participants found it easy to access clear and understandable information about the pandemic.
  • Respondents raised the issue of not wanting to access health and care services during the pandemic, due to concerns about safety and overloading of services
  • 60% of participants felt their mental health had been affected by the pandemic.
  • The impact of isolation, technology, and bereavement on mental health was explored through focus groups

Healthwatch Wolverhampton also explored the impact of the pandemic on people experiencing homelessness, and young carers.
