Summary of report content

Healthwatch County Durham report on seven enter and view visits to local GP surgeries between April to December 2023 as part of a programme to assess access to GPs. They spoke to 159 people.

The report looks at:

  • Ease of getting an appointment
  • Waiting times for an appointment
  • Access to other services
  • Surgery website content
  • Additional communication needs
  • Whether people could see the healthcare professional they asked for

The report contains a number of recommendations on access to timely appointments, information provided, prescriptions, being able to see a named member of staff and accessible communications.
