Summary of report content

Healthwatch Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead undertook research with young carers to understand the impact on their physical health of caring as a result of Family Action Young Carers raising the issue of young carers sustaining injury or long term mobility issues as a result of their caring responsibilities.  They spoke to two young carers.

The young carers described the impact of caring on their physical health.  They wanted training to support mobility safely and more help in the home. They had received no help from the local authority.  The local primary care networks were planning to offer young carers wellbeing checks including manual training.

The report includes three recommendations.
