Summary of report content

Healthwatch Bexley conducted research to provide a COVID-19 update on Bexley resident’s views between June-July 2020. Healthwatch Bexley found that residents were finding it harder to get GP appointments and many are afraid to visit Hospitals or GPs. People with pre-existing health conditions have found it harder to get the treatment or support they need, appointments have been cancelled or postponed creating backlogs.

Residents generally follow the Government guidelines and feel frustrated when people don’t. However, there is some confusion about Government guidelines. Getting a dental appointment has been found to be very difficult. People are struggling with mental health and carers are finding it hard to cope with restrictions to services due to COVID-19.
