Summary of report content

This report highlights the public feedback received by Healthwatch Halton during four outreach sessions held at Whiston Hospital and St Helens Hospital between June and August 2024. During these ‘Listening Events’ they use a short questionnaire to gather people’s experiences of each hospital.  54 people gave their feedback at these events.

Despite the increasing pressures on the NHS at present, the feedback gathered shows continuing high levels of satisfaction with the care and treatment provided by the Trust, with 97% of patients rating their experience as good or excellent. There was also feedback from patients on where patient experience could be improved which we hope the Trust will look at.

The care and treatment provided by staff at St Helens Hospital was praised by the people spoken to. The feedback given was overwhelmingly positive, with just a few comments for improvement mentioned.
