Healthwatch South Tees conducted survey to gather information about health service delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
The report found that there was increase in digital engagement with services, such as GPs. There was a reduction in community services and activities, particularly for families and older people. Due to these adaptations, some local people have been excluded from care and support, mainly due to not having access to digital devices or choosing not to engage in this way. Face-to-face contact has, however, been missed and remaining in contact with some client groups has been difficult.
Healthwatch South Tees recommended that communication be on going, consider creative ways to engage with people who a digitally excluded, and stress the importance of feedback.
